These aren't random, toilets vs cameras, and they're not even arbitrary. In neurobiological terms, they're references. Eyes and anuses.

The title of this piece is "Nightmare Fuel" and mods removing it are editing out the central thrust of the article. Please reply here why this was done, thanks.

Or, lore is a dinosaur, and the fractal, chaotic idea of reality becomes clearer by the day in our dystopia.
These are clearly toilets vs cameras, or out vs in. Resonant media doesn't have to explain itself. But simpler minds need the illusion of backstory, or the idea of good/bad, etc.

The point is that memes replace stodgy narratives, which are dinosaurs (news, history, novels), with semantic options. You can experience this as meaningless, or in well designed memewarefare, you can sense the density and how/where it applies to the culture today and sense that it has something to add when it's archaeology.

We don't need static, low-res semantics in media anymore, that's how Hollywood is already DOA. Their concern is carefully curating the meaning, when the density range is far too massive out there.

No, it's not a narrative at all, it's episodic-mimetic and it's fractal, the pieces can be recombined in other vids. A narrative has bells and whistles like backstory, cause and effect dichotomies.

Not exactly. We don't know where optic-flow reactions that integrate senses, emotions, motor systems in the slightest. Study neural reuse or coordination dynamics. Some relationship between the brain and the world that isn't easily found in the brain alone is responsible.

Wisdom is an arbitrary concept. The drive to avoid suffering is built from sensory and affective affinities and networks funnlled into the cog-mapping motor systems. Calling this wisdom is simply a simplistic narrative.

It's a mechanism of intelligence, not consciousness. Intel is built up from path-integration, short-cuts, vicarious trial and error that begins in very tiny local areas and expands to landmark and non-landmark navigation. This switching between vision and hippocampus has always been theorized about as the fundamental sharp wave ripple threshold of how intelligence is built as most mammals can do this, so it's not the "algorithm of consciousness".

We're already verging on decentralized, and we've been horizontalizing since 1995. If you're not aware of these trends leaving behind models, discarding politics, recognizing the narrative seclusions of economic policy, then you have your head in some 20th C think-tank or consultancy immobility syndrome.
These things are dinosaurs. States are looming as extinct, religion, history, myth, storytelling are ancient tools. I'd start looking around outside of the C suite.
Think what's already under development that disintegrates out stodgy ideas of "wealth", currencyless societies, tokens, analog measurement replacing binary, syntax instead of grammar.
Ye olde Friedman-Galbraith (and any edgy sounding theorist) promoting currency, quant, interest, game-theory about economies are witch doctors that have already been unmasked by scientists. I've linked one above a few entries up.
Think for yourself, don't toe the line into senescence. Don't replay your father's tired ideas about wealth.

It's an extinction project, growth or sustained growth, you're describing mathematical politics, which is arbitrary. All animals reach a homeostasis/allostasis with the environment. Humans don't require synthetic categories ie "goods and services" we require functional relationships to resources that become streamlined into ecological categories in order to survive.
