Get used to it. The modern day solution for everything right now is to throw AI at it.
Hmmm... I need to measure this piece of wood for cutting, let me take a picture of it and see what the ai says its measurement is instead of using a measuring tape because it is faster to use the AI.

Is it just me or is hackernews being flooded with overhyped AI "Discoveries". Only thing that changes is what data is being trained on it or the interface. I come here for interesting computer science/systems related content.
I get it, the entire economy is being invested into LLMs right now...
Lots of AI Salesmen these days pissing me the fuck off.

This is very true. The company that I am at, not going to mention name but just going to say its FAANG, buys data from this company and uses it to allow for better tracking and graph building when we receive experian cookies. The USA does not care about its peoples privacy even though it constantly says that it does lol. If they cracked down on the privacy laws I feel that bank accounts will get affected since in the top 500 of stocks big tech sits on top.

The office at the location that I currently am based in for my company includes a courtyard with pond for breaks, an onsite massage therapist, food court with good food, workout gym, and other things... If I am not getting to use these extra provided perks I am expecting for my company to make up for that by paying me a portion of what they were spending on all of those in person perks. This is prob going to make some developers quit working at google I could imagine.

Yes. Just tell the guy to get off his butt and go and see if the item is in stock. This has worked every time for me. I call walmart on a reg to see if an item is in stock before having to drive all the way there.

Have you ever thought about calling the store to see if it is in stock before going out of your way to drive there. This would prevent you from leaving your computer desk. Also for the increased price that local shops might have, I view that as a convienience fee for not having to wait 3-4 days for the package to arrive at my house.
