In Sweden home tests have been available for some time.

The effect on the masses is that if the test is negative they will send their children to school, use public transportation, go to work even if they are sick as a dog. It's not Corona so it's fine.

The end result is none Corona "normal" winter flue/cold/infections are being spread like never before.

The ability to gauge the right level of abstraction is the mark of a good developer.

That being said I rather rework an over abstracted C# codebase then a hyper templated , singleton using, multiple >5 inheritance, no STL, void pointing C++ madness.
