Hmm. I am all for leaving animals alone, but their Wikipedia page says their status is “secure” and of “least concern”.

Every time I find one of these in my backyard with my dog, I have to spray my dog’s mouth out with the hose for 5 minutes. Psychedelic, but also very toxic.

They literally do have hard evidence. They have records of an employee (Chang Liu) who left for OpenAI copying dozens and dozens of files off of their server after he left.

Did you read it the paper at all? For one, asyncio is primarily still single-thread, while this can scale with number of processes.

Ask HN: Banned incorrectly from Facebook Marketplace. What can I do about it?

I was banned from Facebook Marketplace because its automated system thought a bicycle I had posted was a gun. It... was a bicycle (a 2022 Specialized Enduro, for those curious).

I reposted the same listing (a bicycle!) and it flagged me for evasion and permanently banned me.

I can't figure out how to solve this. I've filed "appeals" (they go nowhere), and no matter what I do I can't seem to get in contact with someone who can help here.

How have others navigated similar things with big tech that has no visible, helpful support?

I've been using ty on some previously untyped codebases at work. It does a good job of being fast and easy to use while catching many issues without being overly draconian.

My teammates who were writing untyped Python previously don't seem to mind it. It's a good addition to the ecosystem!
