But, but, AI is just a tool!!! No, it's not. If something else is making decisions for you, you're the tool.

There is inherently no solution to the human communication problem. The mistake has always been in thinking technology would unite us and improve communication when clearly it's doing the opposite.

The best thing that could happen to humanity is if OpenAI is sued comically into oblivion. LLMs are the anti-humanity, and the sooner we rid the planet of them the better off we'll be.

The usability of a system is mostly irrelevant. The measure of a good UI is how much money it can get the user to spend, not how intuitively it enables the user to achieve a task.

100% correct. The professors and PIs abuse their employees, and the institution completely supports it. It's the business plan.

Advertising, social media, even personal photos are highly edited, overly polished, artificially perfected representations of the world. Not only should we celebrate the breathtaking photo that is the centerpiece of this article, we should encourage more of it. As a species, it's important that we allow these portraits of our lives, behaviors, and quirky interactions to be made as, if not art, then simply a more accurate representation of what it means to be human at this moment in time. I understand these types of photographs can offend, or cross the line, or cause debate. That's what Art is for. We are better for it.
