At some point Google needs to think about why these phones exist. Nobody buys them and there is no way their hardware division is turning a profit. After Stadia, I bet this is next.

This isn't reducing the power of any company. The money and fees will be shifted around. This accomplishes nothing other than encouraging people to rack up more debt.

Well, it's an issue of double standards.

Nobody expects highways to make money or break even. Suggesting that a road have tolls is the quickest way to lose. However, transit is put in another group, for some reason.

It's not Apple's fault that the carriers/RCS/Google don't know how to make messaging work. RCS sucks, it pales in comparison to anything but SMS.
