Considering all forms of sharing information as freedom, USA have huge problem with copyrights. Copyright limits people right to speech to protect interest of corporations, same as ban of stalking or slanders limits freedom of speech to protect victims.

Corporations care primarily about their position relative to other corporations; you and piracy is not concerns for them. Disney, Warner Bross and similar media corporations fears monopoly of Netflix. You cannot harm them thru piracy, Netflix can.

You always pay for piracy or it is bad experience. You have to pay in your resources (private torrent trackers) or in cash (derbit, usenet). Alternatively you use unstable and low quality stream.

Because of philosophy I prefer sharing resources more than cash.

I doubt we will see IPv6-only ISPs. Such provider will have to face complaints that some part of Internet is not working correctly. It can be written it in the offer, but for not technical people some services will be broken by ISP.

It is core of problem with IPv6 adoption - from ISP perspective it do not solve any problem because they still needs solution for connecting to IPv4. Opposite way it works - if you have IPv4 there are bridges to IPv6.

Yes, you should own your data and do not trust companies. There are a lot o cases when SaS companies used their position to squeeze money from customers. If they are allow do do so, they also be used by their governments to push on other governments.

Yes, but people connected to Olympic want to be independent from governments. In some way Olympians Games are private tournaments which are sponsored by host countries.

It is funny that "Olympians" representing my country when they demands public money, but are independent from government when we are talking about organization of National Olympic Committee.

You can make a deal that US buy icebreaker for 300M from Finland and Finns buy weapons from US for 300M. They need it because of Russia and you boosts US economy in other areas.

People love things. It is easy to say "consume less", it even easer if you add "and work less". It ease to give up something you recognize as a luxury: we can skip exotic holidays, use public transport, eat less meat, make more durable electronic, buy less clothes, go to restaurants less often, live in smaller houses. I am observing that there is always some 'deal breaker' - even for anti-consumerism people. In Poland it is often real estates - houses and flats are one of the most important expense in households budgets. "Consume less" means that society should build less new houses and people should live longer with their parents or have smaller apartments for their families. For other countries or areas the deal-breaker is to resign from private transport because there is no public transport alterative in countrysides.

I think it is result of labour protection law - just symmetrical. In Poland there is same notice period for employee and employer (up to 3 months).

In Poland it is popular - especially in IT - to sign B2B contract which do not have such restriction and you can agree on shorter or longer notice period to quit a job.

Interesting, I did not know that internet payments are so expensive. In Poland (UE) max interchange is 0,3%. Blue Media (Polish payment gate) cost 1,19%. 1.9%-3,25% + €0.25 looks expensive.

Exactly: it shows how lack of backward compatibility slows technology adoption. 25 years after IPv6 there is still no benefit for ISP from using it. They still needs IPv4 address (and NAT, DHCP etc.) - IPv6 do not resolve problem of limited number of IPv4 for them.
