You’re underselling this. Running it locally also gives you access to all cores and all RAM. Wasm is very limited comparatively - perf is not even close.

I was hopeful for Wasm to make this work better but it just didn't. really cool to see this available - i was wondering what the next step was.

We are working on how to make it easy to switch from instant sql -> run query -> instant sql

for clarity: Instant SQL won't automatically run queries that write or delete data or metadata. It only runs queries that read data.
