Hey HN! I built HostsLab, a simple desktop app for managing /etc/hosts and ~/.ssh/config on macOS.
I got tired of manually editing config files every time I needed to map a local domain or add an SSH connection. HostsLab gives you a visual interface to:
- Add/edit/disable host entries (with proper sudo handling)
- Manage SSH connections with dropdowns for existing keys
- Generate new SSH keys (Ed25519/RSA) right from the app
- Everything preserves comments and formatting in your config files
It's built with Electron + React + TypeScript, code-signed and notarized, and fully open source (MIT).
Demo: https://github.com/Matzielab/HostsLab
Download: https://github.com/Matzielab/HostsLab/releases/latest
Built this mainly for myself but figured other devs might find it useful. Feedback welcome!

A website that lets users create and collect digital trading cards (not NFC or blockchain stuff). Currently trying to get the first active artists to join but it's hard. At least its a place for me to create my little artworks.
https://misocards.com

Great idea, i'll do that. There is no blockchain or NFT it's just digital cards you have on your profile/collection. Im thinking in the future you could order and have them physically. If you know the pokemon TCG app, it's like that but the cards are user generated

I draw and make some art myself and always liked making little trading cards, so i built a website that lets users create and collect trading cards. It's a fun way to discover art and artists.
It's very early stage and i have a hard time getting artists to join. Most subreddits and discord servers dont allow advertising so i haven't found a good way of spreading the word about the site. So if you're an artist, know artists or have any ideas on how to get artists to join i'd love to hear it.
And feel free to explore and come with feedback or ideas and what you like/dislike

I made an app which connects ChatGPT with the ability to run functions on your phone. Implemented most of apple health kit and will keep adding functions, thinking next is calendar. It can sort of work as a health/fitness buddy at the moment where it gives personal recommendations and tips based on your real data. You choose what functions are available for the AI to call. This is version 1.0.0 so gladly take your recommendations and tips
