This is great. I had to back out of a phoenix project and rewrite it in Django because I couldn't get good AI assistance. I'm pretty inexperienced with Elixir and Phoenix but understand the benefits enough to want to make projects in it. So this is really cool.

Tbh why should I use this over Django? Less docs and knowledge around it. Less maintainers. Idk seems like a business risk to invest real time in it for me

I'm building a cozy multiplayer game engine (very early stages - just a few days in!) combining Elixir, Go, and Godot to achieve sub-50ms latency while maintaining a warm, welcoming feel. My architecture uses Elixir/Phoenix for fault-tolerant session management, Go for high-performance game state sync (1ms tick rate), and Godot for client-side prediction. I've implemented lock-free data structures, SIMD-optimized physics, and binary protocols with delta compression. Quick note: the website/login aren't functional yet - this is a work in progress! Here's my technical deep-dive into the challenges and solutions so far.
If you feel so inclined follow the devlog for updates as I build this out in public.

I can't believe the amount of people who don't realize the Lenovo X1 Carbon (version 6) is the powerhouse computer they've all been looking for. It's linux compatible for devs. The only reason most devs are tied to OSX is because of tooling. Mainly brew.
I bought the new x1 carbon and am never looking back to Apple.

I did a 3 month contract working on porting Terraria (the actual game) from XNA to Unity and updating things like UI from sprite batching etc.
Coincidentally and fwiw, the actual source code to Terraria was also a hellscape of spaghetti code.

I initially had problems with max character length for paths. When npm installed dependencies really deep down, Windows became unable to move or delete such files. I think it's been fixed with Yarn's flat dependency structure, which I think npm has also gone or is going to in the near future.
