Agreed. I use Flickchart, a service that builds a "best of" list for you over time, and also builds a "highest rated movies you haven't seen yet" list. The other day, the lightbulb went off that I should sort my queue based on that "highest rated movies" list, but I quickly rediscovered that the Netflix queue sorting interface is a hassle to deal with.

I haven't been here for very long, but I can't say it's a "common sight" to see flip phones at coffee shops. :)

On a more serious note, I have to agree with the bit about being a "pro-dog" city. I am constantly amazed at the number of dogs on the Muni, dogs in parks, dogs tied up outside of stores/restaurants, etc.

Dumb question: isn't IFTTT one of the companies that HN always cautions against building (one dependent on the availability of others' sites/APIs)? Or does that only apply for sites dependent on 1 other service?

I saw a web app someone had built on here to help facilitate apartment hunting for one person or a group of people. There was a free trial account, a personal subscription, and a group subscription. It wasn't Nestio.

Does anyone remember this?

I had figured they needed to be there in person to get past the fingerprint scanner.

Also, Bane's plan centers around presenting himself as a champion of the people -- I had figured he went in guns blazing for the psychological value of the thing (not to mention the possibility of drawing Wayne/Batman out of hiding). Exchange security just being compromised probably wouldn't be a big enough deal for most people (the police officer outside who makes the comment about his money being in his mattress certainly doesn't seem to care!)

I've been wondering for a while how much of that is due to the public chart of Linux/OS X/Windows donations. Does anyone know if Linux users donate at the same amount when that information isn't made available? (ie has there been a sale where you can't see donations broken down by OS during the sale, but the figures get released later?)

Downloaded the app just now. My friends were already teasing me about using Foursquare...I can already tell this is going to be even worse.

(My one little bit of criticism is that I find the 8-bit-style text really hard to read on the iPhone's screen.)
