AI is not supposed to write excellent code, it is supposed to write the “most likely” code which equates to your average engineer. People who are below the curve are going to see a much higher benefit than people who are higher than the curve.

None of these companies have any MOAT.
LLMs are getting better at a rapid pace and in a year or two, Chinese LLMs should easily catch up with the best of the models. Models have kind of reached a saturation point and that’s why OpenAI and Anthropic are doing an IPO now. Because a year down the line when their lead diminishes even more, they would be worth lesser money.
SpaceX has clients to put payloads into space, but those clients have always looked for good low cost alternatives. It is going to have competition in the future and will lose customers.

Even for making new music Suno is a godsend. My workflow has changed from making a whole track to just creating some nice loops with my favorite VSTs and asking Suno the rest. I get a song in the exact BPM and style that I wanted, while saving me a ton of time.

Or have an a11y standard for MCPs, where they can't show UI elements and have to only respond with text so that Voice Readers could work out of the box.
This would be a game changer, currenly Voice Readers do not work very well with websites and a11y is a clunky set of tags that you provide to elements and users need to move around elements with back/tab and try to make a mental model of what the website looks like. With MCP and Voice chat, it is like talking to a person.

In a real world test you would have a tool call for the LLM which is a bit high level like GoTo(object) and the tool calls another program which identities the objects in frame and uses standard programs to go to that.

I have been coding for more than 20 years now and nothing has changed my coding habit more than LLMs. I am a touch typer and use a blue mechnical keyboard since I love typing so much and have been used to writing a lot of code.
But ever since LLMs have released, I do find myself writing long prompts and then waiting for LLM to do the implementation. They are not perfect by any means and make a lot of mistakes, but I have found that verbose prompting does usually get the job done.
Now these sessions usually last a few hours due to how slow LLMs are and I usually work on larger pieces of work. I am used to working long hours and typing for a long time, but this is new. I find myself waiting for 70% of the time for an operation to happen.
I find myself watching tv shows or youtube videos or even doing some creative writing on the side while LLMs do their work.
So I was just wondering what other creative things the HN crowd has come up with to do while LLMs are doing the grunt work for you.

Imagine if historic humans had decided that only hammers are enough. That there is no need for a specialized tool like Scissors, Chisel, Axe, Wrench, Shovel , Sickle and that a hammer and fingers are enough.
Use the tool which is appropriate for the job, it is trivial to write code to use them with LLMs these days and these software are mature enough to rarely cause problems and tools built for a purpose will always be more performant.
