Yeah it's pretty meaningless to see the ai label below videos. Lots of obvious AI shorts and videos are unlabeled yet other videos are labeled as fully generated with AI when they are obviously not [1]

even before AI very few developers cared about the actual craft. I'd say only about 3%. For a lot of people it's just a job, no matter if it's a corperate dev or a startup dev.

prompt injection has been super easy for ages. Heck I do it sometimes against coworkers who process my review comments using claude. I'll tell claude to edit it's global claude.md file or even dump a key from their env (checking if they are using the correct sandbox) and it'll do it without confirming with their user.

People acting like meat proxies add no value. Claude is also very eager to make conclusions without digging deeper. It has no inherent curiosity or prior knowledge about the codebase asside from what it can see.

In my experience they still struggle a lot though. They're great at 1 to 1 translations but they will fight the target language to get there tho. A lot of the rust rewrites I've seen done by AI contain a lot of patterns that any rust dev worth it's salt will scoff at.

if you tell it to do a thing it'll try it's best to make you think that it was done. I rarely get good refactors from AI unless I tell it specifically what to do.

Where I work we're hosting our own gitlab instance and the previous company I worked for hosted their own Bitbucket. For most developers I know it's either a self hosted git platform instance or Github enterprise.

I've never had to show proof of insurance here, in the Netherlands, it's linked digitally to your license plate. I don't understand why other countries wouldn't do the same.

iirc does pnpm not allow them by default. But even if we killed them off there would still be a chance of the malware hooking into something else or only working in cli applications.

Agents frequently go off on tangents, make wrong decisions, require feedback etc. Agents have never moved away from being a junior that knows everything about programming but has no idea how to properly apply it.
