or may be typical leaders have a better vision of what "sustainability" means.
"Hire great engineers that have sustainability in their bones"
Actual implementation by the grifters : Hire other grifters with Sustainability in their resume, whose only job is to act as gatekeepers with psuedo-science garbage and make this team as big as the Engineering Team.
It's perfectly fine for the leader to look at the implementation and say "what's this fucking bullshit and cut everything".
These concepts are of course completely alien to leader/rich-hating HN

OpenAI has completely pivoted to a Product company (vs a Model / API company)
The minute they switch to API is the time their userbase realizes that OpenAI neither has the best model nor the most cost-effective one nor the fastest one.
So, their business strategy is subscription and bundle a bunch of products and market it to the mass.
They have a brand "chatGPT" recognition and they'll milk that.
Sam is more of a Steve Jobs than a Bill Gates personality or at least wannabe

None of those matters (except multimodal). If you are running a business, the only thing that matters is
a) How does it perform on my set of evals
b) What is the cost/latency of serving it to my consumers.
It shouldn't matter to me how many parameters, corpus it is trained on, whether it's LLM or Transformer or something else

If you prevent government from launching technologies for every software bug / mistake, you will get a bloated government which will do everything manually increasing it's cost to taxpayers and decrease in quality of services.
The key is still to launch fast and iterate over bugs especially in the realm of traffic / parking violations which at the most causes annoyances to people ( I mean the same people are willing to sit in front of Holland Tunnel for an hour )

You have no idea the margins at which Elon Musk operates.
If you read his biography he is obsessive about cost cutting like no else in the history of mankind. There are plenty of examples where Musk brings down the cost of a component by 90%.
No other leader takes risks like Musk and hence he will always push frontiers.
His companies never get lazy or bloated even if it reaches $10T market cap.
Musk methods can't be replicated because it is the anti-thesis of every management practice.
