I was working for a company in France, while based in Latvia, and we worked according to B2B contract and I was just invoicing them and paid all my taxes. No problem.

Can you please explain, why the ruby engineer vacancy is remote only within certain countries - FR, PT, GB, NL, ET, and IT? Why if I live in Latvia or Poland, or Sweden, I can't work with you? I don't want to call you out, but it's just interesting to understand why it's like that and specifically, why we can't try to make the geography more diverse, at least within EU?

When working remotely, sometimes I find myself at the end of the day and see that I did nothing today for my software engineering work. Does it happen to you too? What do you say the next morning in the daily meeting to your manager, do you say honestly or come up with something?

This is why now instead of taking notes, I only take voice notes. Each time I need to think about something, to clarify in my mind, I launch Voice Memos on my iOS device and record my thoughts.

It immensely helped me to structure my mind and be more clear about my ideas. I highly recommend that to anyone.

I have a dream of making a cringe detector - a program that you could input a tweet or image, and it outputs how cringy it is.

I am thinking, it could use a neural net, or not necessary.

I was trying to imagine, how could that thing work? And actually out of clue.

To me it's obvious that the military operation is a project just like any other.

How are projects managed at war? Do they try to go Agile, or it's mostly waterfall? Please share you knowledge and experience.

I think it’s quite clear: when I search for something, what I want to see, it’s people arguing with each other on my topic of search, and I want to read their various arguments, and make my decision.

This is why I like HN and artisan forums so much, or even Reddit.

Google could do just one thing - prioritize giving out the discussions of real people. But they just don’t wanna do it apparently
