I wonder if it's a fun mindset. Making demands of other people at scale you won't ever do yourself.
There's no end to it, just like there's no end to the pretend tolerance and pretend generosity by using other peoples' money for ideas they have no desire to contribute to, but are forced to at gunpoint and prison threat (taxation).

Consumerism comes after basic needs are met, and time becomes available.
Consumerism is reading articles such as these, and reading comments afterwards. It's natural, as humans are curious and want to experience things.
Though I can't quote anything I have a suspicion that this is written somewhere in the bible or by aristotle. it's human nature but also animal nature to be consumers.
Consumption has many reasons. some buy unnecessary things to build on other things. People who buy a boat or vacation envision sharing it with their friends.
People who buy the latest too envision building amazing things of high quality for people, or they see themselves doing something in less time.
People who buy things also invent other things. The world gets more complex. it's not that mysterious and has little to do with the victorian age, other than maybe it was actually documented. It's a shame to lay blame on a particular people of an era, as the sole originator of something that's subjectively called "bad" just because those people happened to be the ones who actually wrote down what they did for the future to learn from.
Consumption. Think about it. The victorian age? Tryu harder. Why do you think throughout history, kings had huge feasts and dozens concubines. Because they had the time and the opportunity.

Filming criminals hasn't stopped them either. Actually the ACLU is determined to now suppress a lot of body cam footage that they originally demanded. Maybe the public should see how terrible their peers are and take a lesson.
Instead the video is suppressesd A LOT. You've seen a handful of body cam footage, a handful of proofs of the thousands of calls in every city every day.
Think about that.

You're just saying words, you've got no examples of where rubber meets the road. Just that "men are looked down upon for being elementary school teachers" What? Where? And female oil rig workers get "societal pushback" Again just words. Where? How? You've got nothing here so far.
I mean if you want to talk about cultural influence there's way more news articles celebrating women doing various things, celebrating women entrepreneurs, women soldiers, women and minority events and special recognition or conferences.
Read all the stories about sexual harassment? Anecdotally I've seen just as much sexual language coming from women in IT as men in terms of workers. Project mgrs, network admins, probably a few more. And those instances were miniscule and didn't make up anywhere near a day to day problem for people.
I have seen instances where a guy who was being a dick treated women poorly. He got a talking to and cut that out. I've seen women take their day out on men and women and never got any kind of talking to. It's really funny you're pointing to some sort of dysfunction and not demonstrating or sourcing anything but "all those stories"

"taught by society"
feel free to source that in a way that can be proven. The assertion is just pseudo intellectual excuse making. Society is NOT telling women to NOT be sanitation workers. Society is not telling women not to work on offshore oil rigs. Society is not telling women not to be surgeons but to in fact be veterinarians. Society and "gender role" excuses don't hold up to reality. Time to accept that the women you know, or imagine you know make their choices, largely based on their own interests.
You're welcome to try to convince women to become sanitation workers rather than paralegal interns in climate controlled offices. Good luck on that.

False flags are inexpensive, sometimes free and they are deployed a fair amount. I am being serious when I say that it's suspicious that the media just with with their mile-wide inch-deep coverage of our air shooter and we're supposed to just follow them with their "see what fake news does!!!!" spin around the block. Nah. Like I said, I'll stick with my skepticism on this one until the media goes deeper into our shooter. Looks like our shooter's family has some political connections besides. Until then he seems like more of a convenient patsy to me. Gut talking there.
Side topic, St. Louis recently had a pizza incident make the news. Odd.

"yeah we're done here"
You're proving my point. Precisely BECAUSE somebody discharged a firearm, in your mind now the case is closed it's ALL fake news. I'm saying that the reporting on this guy is light, but we're supposed to dismiss the strange coded emails now. Nah I think I'll continue to keep my eye on it.
Lesson learned for anyone want to sweep something under a rug. Just pay some mentally ill person to discharge a firearm nearby, say they did it because Jodie Foster or Alex Jones told the place was suspicious and then CNN will ensure to brand the act as a "lesson of fake news" and impossible to discuss now.

I saw the Pizza gate content rise up from seemingly out of nowhere. Thing is though, the core of it, without making any specific accusations is there is really weird stuff going on in those emails from wikileaks dump. Strange coded language when they are talking about kids and pizza. And that pizza restaurant had some really strange things posted on their social media too. (Strange enough that they would later delete it.)
After looking long enough at it, basically PizzaGate warrants just as much suspicion for me as any JFK theory at this point. I believe there's something to it. There is a mountain of little details that make it impossible to flat out deny it, I just don't go as far as levying accusations at people withouth knowing facts. Others have accused people w/o evidence beyond a reasonable doubt and I think that's wrong. I think the police should be interested in Pizza Gate, and I think a few of them are. But again I don't go further than that.
What people think bubbled over Pizza Gate was that guy with the gun who went in the restaurant. But actually that smelled like a hoax to me. It just seemed wildly incomplete and a convenient way to say "See what fake news does!" And that guy had a strange background with him, and the media chose NOT to go too deep into his story either. It was like they just needed that for their narative.

The "screentime" argument, not a very good one. Trump has had more criticism and negative press flung at him than probably anyone alive EVER in just the last year, from almost every country on earth. Eastern Europe was getting just as much anti-trump media as the United States. I guess you could call that "screen time" too.
Just saying Trump had more screen time is a small picture of what the media have been doing to Trump. The lack of screentime for Clinton was a benefit as we saw. We actually saw correlation with lower national polling the more screen time she got. The more she was under wraps (remember the LONG countdown since she had had a press conference, it had been something like 250 days I think). Many talking heads were saying that was on purpose.

shop around locally, really investigate with phone calls what you can expect roughly.
I would also help to create an RFP, request for proposal or request for estimate so you outline what you are looking for, what you have, and then see if various contacts bite at all and give a proper estimate or itemization.
You can get a lot of ideas quickly from using the 99 designs type sites. Basically logo farms kind of pull stuff from their reserves and some of them might stick. You'll get plenty of garbage but I doubt you'll say it' was a waste because you'll probably get some great baseline ideas to work from. It's really affordable, though admittedly a bit exploitative. Still it's those group's choices that they want to participate / submit so it's not like you're forcing them to submit. Find a way to pay out so not to be too exploitative, hows that.
