Why going "ALL-IN" and over-relying on mental frameworks are 2 forms of shortcut-taking
Many people in tech love to talk about going "all-in".
They hope to end the battle in one shot.
I personally feel that teams that casually talk about going all-in have significant issues.
Going all-in can sometimes be a form of laziness.
If you have contemplated things thoroughly and decided it is the right way to go, or more importantly, if the market sends you signals and pulls you to go all in, then by all means.
But in many cases, it's more like "I'm tired of thinking about it anymore, so let's just do it and hope things will work out."
Another way of taking shortcuts is over-abstracting things and excessively pursuing frameworks. I myself often fall that this one.
Frameworks are not as useful as they seem.
In many cases, when you abstract a phenomenon into a framework, you are applying leverage to your thinking. If this leverage is applied incorrectly, even a small error can lead to huge mistakes.
However, because frameworks can only be abstracted when there are enough instances occurring, attempting to do so at an early stage can be dangerous. Since much of it is unstructured and sporadic, overusing frameworks doesn't help your understanding of the truth.
Avoiding excessive abstraction and overuse of frameworks will also help maintain a balanced mindset.

How would you approach this?

We've all heard this:
Don't create solutions looking for problems. Instead, find a valuable problem first.
But pinpointing the right problem is tough.
I got stuck at overthinking: what is a worthy problem?
Right now, I'm thinking two potential ways out:
1. Build and publish as much as possible on any idea crossing mind. I hope this will help increase the surface area of getting lucky.
2. Do whatever I can to make the first dollar online.
How would you approach this? Any insight is appreciated!

Just like the right answer to "when should I let this person go?" is the first time the idea of firing him crosses your mind, maybe the right answer to this situation is the same:
You should be looking for a new opportunity and move on the first time that idea crosses your mind...
When you think something is off, it usually is... and waiting on it will not change its trajectory.

Interesting. I've always wondered why it is Atlanta, not NYC or Chicago or LA, that grabbed the title of the busiest airport. One thing is that most other large cities have more than one airport... that it's like not totally fair to compare. Another is that Atlanta has Delta Airlines which calls Atlanta home. And also the location of Atlanta has very few competitors in the city's vicinity (250 miles).

The Harvard Business School Online brought in 68 Million USD last year with their online courses priced at 1700 to 2500 USD. Plus they are writing SEO driven articles like this (https://online.hbs.edu/blog/post/business-skills-every-professional-needs) just like any bloggers would do but because they are Harvard so their articles got the domain authority to rank really high. And there are lots of these types of articles out there, from many universities.
Is it normally amongst universities to provide online courses outside their core full-time offerings? Who runs these programs and do they work with an outside company to do the actual work?

15 of the top 20 MBA programs provide some sorts of specializations. Yet HBS, Stanford don't. On the other hand Wharton provides 20...
Should this affect people's decisions where to apply to and where to go to? Or it's just the schools trying to differentiate themselves...

There are definitely assumptions involved in writing this piece:
My definition of "business degrees" were:
Business(incl. biz mgmt/biz admin, etc.) + Accounting (11) + finance (5) = 32
"Engineering degrees" were:
Everything with engineering in the name of the degree = 23
So for the time being, there are more CEOs with college business degrees than those with engineering degrees. If you separate accounting and finance from business, then the story is reversed.
However, I also did notice that the average age of the CEOs is 60 and the mean is 61; things may have changed now.
It will be interesting to see the backgrounds of some more recent founders of successful startup, etc.
