<p>That fairly insular community pretty much gave up on commercial success in order to be insular. But the commercial forces were not happy being commercially successful, so they decided to disturb even their insular and commercially-unviable activities.</p>

<p>You're right in an absolute sense, but trust me its easy to get used to a much larger space than that. And I can attest that in my world people don't stop aspiring for larger spaces until the space per person is much higher than what you've quoted.</p>

<p>And surely with all the competent engineers working for her, she could have figured out where to pivot to, once she understood that the original basic idea was unworkable.<p>Plenty of founders keep pivoting, all the time in the beginning, so it says something about her that she doubled down on it to the point of fraud.</p>
