Isn't this the point of these institutions?

The schools prestige is what they sell since you can learn the material online for free or from a state university.

You are essentially buying into the network and using the name as a status symbol.

I'm a millennial and I'm not naive enough to believe a company has my best interest at heart.

This is year 2 of rough layoffs in tech. anyone that didn't see January coming as layoff month is dumb.

This sounds like a purely mathematical output that hasnt been observed yet. Interesting, but like string theory, its pretty much math manipulation until you get what you want.

Now there are online degrees from good brick-and-mortar schools that do not mention they are online.

Georgia Techs OMSA, OMSCS, UT Austin Masters in DS, CS online.

True, I believe it does lead to a well rounded individual to study the arts and humanities, but with the cost of a college degree, the ROI on those courses ($900 per course) is not worth the investment.

applied STEM will pay off for the investment. I still take college courses online after my Masters in CS. I really enjoy learning about humanities and arts at a cheaper CC during my free time.
