Unfortunately people are saying they are fun for the purposes of ragebait that goes viral, which is half the reason people intentionally post AI slop on social media.

> so people have less of an incentive to be honest, and tons of incentives to hide their use
Case in point, the recent Hank Green incident. That was an own-goal of being too honest about LLM use and I suspect the industry learning will be "don't talk about the process." Larian Studios got in hot water earlier over a similar "we may use AI in preproduction" incident.

> 1. You believe in ascribing credit where credit is due. Using an LLM feels like cheating so disclosing it makes you feel less like an imposter for having produced something amazing.
Cheating isn't the right word here. Crediting LLMs is about giving everyone involved accurate information which can be used for later decision making (e.g. if something unexpected happens as a result of a LLM-ism).

...that links to a Medium blog post, this submission is not a Medium blog post.
I can confidently say I do not have an encyclopedic knowledge of blog posts and who wrote them I may or may not have read over a year ago. I made that comment on that post because it's weird to quote yourself, I don't think I actually read the post.
I have no grudges against any particular Hacker News user and I typically don't pay attention to who writes a given post/comment unless it's out-of-pocket.

I did not flag the original HN submission, but yes, this post reads very weirdly at best to the point that it's hard to take it seriously. Not every paragraph needs to be 2 sentences that are snippy.

You likely got downvoted/flagged here (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49140552) because it is disproportionately aggro and against HN guidelines.
Also you can't do the "this used to be an actual place where posts meant something" bit when your account is 3 months old.

It doesn't add anything to the discourse. If it's low-quality, flag it and move on.
(the fact that it's currently at #3 is a bit weird and I've noticed some things weird recently with the HN algorithm but that's off topic)

My G602 died due to Logitech's infamous double-click issue. :(
I've been fine with the G502 X Lightspeed (which should avoid said double-click issue due to optical switches) and some more efficient button use to compensate for the fewer side buttons.

I once had an interview loop where after the final round I didn't hear back from the recruiter point-of-contact for awhile. After 1.5 weeks, I sent an email following up: the recruiter replied "I was on vacation dammit, btw you didn't get the job."
