<p>Julia sits somewhere between jit and aot, there is no interpreter part, if something is to be exectued, it's compiled to machine code.<p>The point is that you can have dynamic language that executes natively.<p>You can also compile whole program aot in Julia.</p>

<p>Yes, of course, it can also span subagents, work for an hour without interactivity if that's what you want etc. just like any other harness.<p>Actually due to stupid billing system of github which charges per "premium request" instead of tokens, you could and still can abuse it so it costs nothing. They're changing it from next month to usage based billing though.</p>

<p>Yes, Zed was first harness where you could seriously use local models. The issue is more about not having to check so many options to make sure it's all local. You can set up local model for chat but your auto completions will still be sending your code remotely.</p>
