<p>Ah.. the old days of java programming - set up your CLASSPATH and done.. Nowadays; however, most libraries have tons on other dependencies and doing this manually is tedious and a pain in the neck - download the wrong version of the dependency, and you are in for a rabbit-hole trying to figure out the compilation errors.
Do not get me wrong, Maven is ugly and disgusting(so are the other dependency managers for java), but gone are the days of CLASSPATH.. unless you avoid using libraries bloated 3rd part libraries at any cost.</p>

<p>I think Jira is in there just because it is the most used tool. Pick and choose any other tool, if the mindset with the new tool is the same, then we are in the same spot.
The point is that all the prescribed rules pushed down the throat of developers. (e.g. You must have a daily stand up. You must have a story that is no bigger than x Points, you must NEVER roll in our out stories into a sprint once it starts.. and the list goes on and on..The rules - no matter how "small" they are, they are still a big barrier to being agile in the truth sense of the word.
The above are only my observation and my thouhgts, your mile may vary.</p>

<p>I can confirm that. And Ms. Litre went to the same school and was best friends with Mr. Tracing.

<p>Yes, You can. The entire Linux device interface, to name just one example, if full of interfaces. The way to accomplish this is via pointer to functions, and to have it as an object, have these pointer to functions grouped in a struct.
GTK/Glib is notably full of these interfaces too.</p>

<p>It is 'firing on all cylinders', but a lot of people also got a pay cut either from pay cut to avoid being laid-off or being laid-off and hired by smaller companies (smaller pay). Meanwhile, salary/bonus for CEO increased.
No only the paycheck got smaller, but also prices for literally everything went up by at least 20% (milk, bread, eggs, meat, etc.)
The good side is that smaller companies are hiring, because a lot of people are hurting.</p>

<p>How did you feel then vs now? Still processing
Are you doing alright? Yes. Still have some cushion. But it made me realize that you should never go the extra mile for a company. Working long nights, weekends, skipping vacation. JUST DON'T DO It for the company. I know "you" will be just like me and will not click until it happens to you ;-)
Are you looking for/have you found work? No. It is hard you if you do not build/have a network. Lot's of "I saw your profile and would like you to apply for company x" Then you apply and never hear back. there are also lots of scams for fake jobs to to get as much info from you as they can.
How have your feelings about the industry changed? I would love to change industry..perhaps go into farming.</p>
