My biggest complaint about AI is getting it to lock onto current or specific information has been darn near impossible. Its definitely there in its training data but for the life of me I cannot get it to stop bleeding long outdated or external information into its responses.

My dad logged every single fuel stop with amount, price, odometer, trip when he got his 1990 geo metro xfi. He commuted 120 miles for work and wanted the cheapest new car he could buy to do it in. IIRC the sticker said it got 52mpg highway but he was always bragging that he never got that low of gas mileage in it. We had that car until it was well over 300k miles when it got rear ended.

I had a bone stock 2007 Acura TSX that basically forced me to run the high beams so oncoming traffic could see the difference. If I didn't every vehicle I passed would be flashing their brights at me. If I did then they'd see it gets worse, so much worse... these ARE the low beams. I legit felt bad about it too...

I had the 80s versions of these, a cox P-51 and a red little toni cosmic wind. Super fun once you could get them started but also crazy messy. Playing with them lead me to build an RC Great Planes PT-40 (0.40), a super sportster, a gentle lady rc glider, and another glider that had an electric motor with retractable blades to launch it. Instead of standard gliders which used a whole roll of rubber tubing as large as a soccer field. Then I got into RC helicopters which are pretty difficult to learn how to fly but absolutely crazy what you could do with them 3 dimensionally once you did.
So much of my kid job money, allowance, holiday and birthday money was spent going through the Tower Hobbies catalog. Good times.

My take is there are always positions open but only if you aren't paying market rates. The MASSIVE spike in whats considered a normal salary after inflation and COL has made it so a bunch of employers are perpetually looking.
If they raise their salaries to become competitive again they will fill their positions. If they keep going with normal compensation from 3+ years ago they will keep looking to hire and losing their best employees.
