Vitalize | Senior Product Manager or Staff Product Manager | San Francisco (hybrid)
What we do:
Hospitals run critical operations (staffing, labor planning, and capacity) on spreadsheets, phone calls, and gut instinct. Labor is the biggest cost and hardest operational problem, and it’s still largely manual. Vitalize is building the operating system for hospital labor (and ultimately capacity): we forecast demand from real hospital data (e.g., ADT + historical patterns + acuity) and translate that into concrete staffing decisions: next month’s schedule and the next shift.
Traction:
- ~$37M raised
- Launched 2024; ~$13M committed ARR across 10+ health systems
- Live in 20+ hospitals and growing quickly
The role:
We're hiring a PM to own the product experience that takes a hospital from signed contract to successfully using Vitalize in production. Getting there is complex: every health system has its own HRIS, scheduling workflows, union rules, and technical environment. This team builds the custom integrations and internal tooling that make those deployments faster, more repeatable, and less manual as we scale.
We're looking for a PM who...
- Led messy third-party enterprise integrations deep enough to make real technical calls with eng
- Has built internal tooling with an internal team as the customer
- Prioritized a roadmap under live GTM pressure and held the line when the loudest deal wasn't the right build
- Startup experience, where the system you were building didn't exist yet
If you're interested, email me mark@vitalize.care
Comp: $215K-$260K + equity

Hospitals run critical operations (staffing, labor planning, and capacity) on spreadsheets, phone calls, and gut instinct. Labor is the biggest cost and hardest operational problem, and it’s still largely manual. Vitalize is building the operating system for hospital labor (and ultimately capacity): we forecast demand from real hospital data (e.g., ADT + historical patterns + acuity) and translate that into concrete staffing decisions: next month’s schedule and the next shift.
Traction:
- Launched Jan 2024; ~$8M committed ARR across 10+ health systems (deals ~$300K–$2M)
- Live in 20+ hospitals and growing quickly
- ~$37M raised (Oak HC/FT, Norwest, .406, plus customer-investors MemorialCare & Rochester Regional Health)
How we work:
We’re extremely customer-obsessed: everyone visits customer sites (including engineering) and we regularly build alongside operators to solve real problems (not hypotheticals). High ownership, high candor, high velocity.
Who we're looking for:
Engineers who learn quickly, reason clearly about hard problems, and want to ship high-impact product at the intersection of AI + operations + healthcare. If you're interested, email me mark@vitalize.care
Stack:
TypeScript + Postgres + Effect
Comp:

This is the biggest difference between a Junior Engineer and a Senior (or Staff Engineer).
A Senior Engineer knows what the highest-value work is and is influencing/driving the roadmap. A Senior Engineer says 'no' more often than 'yes' and backs it up with a 'why.'

This is great for the area. There is a lot of unsung innovation coming out of the Midwest with Kansas City playing a large part of it. Coupled with a ton of very smart people, Kansas City is ripe to become a major player in the startup community.
Also, the city is wonderful. Beautiful, amazing food, great schools, cheap, clean, and great transportation options for vacations (out of a great airport!). As someone who lived there for 18 months before moving to San Francisco, there is a lot about Kansas City that I miss.
