Michael Levin's labs, where this research is going on, showed organ (eg. eyes) regeneration etc. I really hope these guys are going in right direction regarding regeneration based on electric fields as a proxy for gene expressions.

I don't like idolization of rich people. Yea, Woz was great for the contribution to computing.

He did sell out though, launching a billion dollar crypto ico which is now at a valuation of around million dollar. Sure anyone would be happiest person ever.

I responded above, but it could be used maybe for network libraries for eg. libvirt. I did my thesis on this topic a couple years ago.

I am very intrigued to find out how this would fit in, if at all.

Absolutely my thought as well. During my thesis i found token buckets to be better and more fair compared to other algos[1]. This was in libvirt. my finding was that it scaled well up to around 1k buckets if memory serves right. after that the results were weird to say the least. (of course the servers i tested on were quite old with not too much memory). Would be nice to run my thesis tests again to find what happened in the last decade.

I recently helped someone with google cloud web applications. They got a weird bug where the deployment with new code would just give old deployment logs. Turned out the account was somehow shadowbanned for a day or so to deploy anymore. The next day the logs pointed to a code checkin from previous day.

Eventually i got super fristrated and made a fresh azure trial account for them and boom everything works.

I cannot understand how gcp is so bad at ux and support. Most of the engineers i know at google are the absolute smartest people i know, how in the heck can it be the product experience at gcp is so lousy.

Can someone recommend how to disable the firefox update popup on osx latest ? I have already disabled the updates checking background service.

(disclaimer: i agree to security issues and stuff due to not updating, i manage my firwalls and adblocks to prevent getting hacked, and take full responsibility in case i get hacked, thank you).

Nice :). I would have loved if this existed a few years back (story below).

A few years back when i was consulting, my manager threw me in a meeting for a client wanting to use ping identity to synchronize their identity data for sso. The client wanted a cheap solution as their ping sso budget was overblown already so i tried making a call with powershell to ping sso which worked. We agreed on a day next week to write this client in powershell (which i didnt have much clue about at that time).

Took a book called powershell in a month of lunches and just started doing the lessons in my train rides from my work to home over the week (2hrs in total a day).

The next week when i met the client, we finished writing the sync client in less than a day including testing. The client later told my ex-manager, that it was the cheapest and fastest IT solution they got.

Tl;dr: amazing book to learn powershell: powershell in a month of lunches.
