Lots of empty emotional statements, generalisations with no facts supporting them. Why bring this here? Release your anger somewhere else and really think about the issue before posting rants.

Otherwise, a really nice overview on the Venezuelan oil. Thank you.

It hurts my eyes to see spelling mistakes in error messages. I know English is not your first language, but, dude, in the age of autocorrect and AI, it is sloppy and screams incompetence. Not what you want anybody to see when using your interpreter.

Otherwise, what a cluster*uck of a code this is.. I am amazed and appalled at the same time.

Played video games on ZX Spectrum and some Soviet computer at home. Wanted to learn to code games as a teen, took a course in Basic, very shallow. Then in high school some exposure to Turbo Pascal (90s), learned a bit, but wasn't great.

Then really learned Python in 2010s trying to solve a real-life problem - had to scrape an ecom website, used Scrapy. Now it's Go, quite complex projects, about to launch our SaaS startup.. took a while..

I'm pretty good with Excel, my main tool at the job for over 20 years. I understand how he did it, but it's just really humbling...

I still think quality of what you do with Excel (idea) is more important than how you do it (skill).

Nonsense, by that logic Lithuania should have been a #2 military power long time ago (having built nukes from a civil nuclear reactor) (it used to operate #2 largest nuclear reactor in the world, now it would be #4).

It's based on ISO20022 messaging standard. Networking and security is typically custom in each country/standardized payment system.

You can, just the central bank /regulator of that country needs to want it. Example: Sweden, which now transacts on SEPA, jointly with EUR currency.

SEPA also works for SEK now, other EU currencies are in pipeline.

Swift is just a messaging standard and a message exchange network (distributed). SEPA is that, plus a settlement system (in a nutshell). That allows for speed and much more (instant payments, request to pay, pay by phone number, credit/debit transfers, etc).

You're bound to deal with currencies once you make any kind of transaction that originates in one currency and settles (finishes) in another.
