i don't see the point of cursor when vsc + codex extension does the same thing. i don't use autocomplete anymore (who writes code anymore? lol) any and anyone using grok unironically is also probably a moron.
i only tell VC type people or others from whom i want something "oh yeah grok is cool" if they mention it, because they're always sucking off Elon

i'd say it depends (as with everything)
i'm still using an old i7 3770k @ 4.8ghz with 16gb (ddr3) ram running linux for random tasks like executing tests. obviously, power consumption is higher.
my main machine is a MBP M1 Max which i use for everything. i also have my main linux desktop workstation that has a 5950x with 128gb (ddr4) ram.
i'll probably get 2-5 years out of my MBP, and my AMD workstation will probably be good for another 5-10 years.
i'm not a gamer, but i have a 3080. i'm sure my 5950x will still be good for gaming in 10 years if paired with a modern GPU.

the actual issue is that teams don't limit WIP to 1 item at a time.
you have people doing 50 things at the same time, then stuff piles up and gets annoying af to manage, and people then have to put what they're working on to the side and address that clog.
just do one thing at a time (you can be doing 10 different projects, but each person should be doing ONE thing with the goal of getting it DONE).
