This is a condition of human social life. Tribes protect their area of interest, the domain in which they dominate is what provides them bread, butter, and prestige. But it is more than that nowadays, it is the primary identity marker for many. In some sense this is needed in a civilization to enable the scientific endeavour, but I feel like the gravitational pull that reverts to mean, has always, well yeah, reverted, is a function of the cost of information movement. Today crazy ideas can gain traction in days, rather than decades, and I fear that some of these narrative bubbles are beyond pulling back in.

Very troubling. It was recently brought up in Danish politics again and I have been more or less agnostic about it my entire adult life. But I made a choice this time that I am against it, and it is for these exact reason described in this article. Bureaucratising power over life and death in that way can only lead to non-desirable places.

I had just bought an apartment in 2008, but I didn't care about it at all. No one I knew bothered with economics except having enough money for rent and hedonistic activities.
I think the same applies to the general public today. Most people in the west have enough, and have seen the markets go up and up for so long that they have forgotten, or never experienced, severe downturn. I think it will blow up worse than 2008.

It would not work. At all. No where in the world does it work, nor has it ever worked.
It is just politics... Semi communist statements like that can gain traction in California, so they are uttered. It will not happen, but will spur another round of talks about how great state is, and what ifs

This is not how Europe works... Misconception no1: Denmark has no minimum wage. We rely on market forces.
It is truly terrifying to see how the narratives about Europe, and especially my home country, have infested the internet to a point where young people in Denmark actually believe random foreigners online know more about Denmark than their parents.

Let's not be naiive here. The courts and the government are not totally disconnected. Everyone has at some point observed court rulings that they thought to have been impacted by political discourse. Instead of indulging myself into a loquacious sesquipedalian treatise on the nature of ethics and origin of judicial and political systems, I will, paraphrasing Hemingway, let go of my dick and just tell you what is there. The system is man-made and man controls every aspect of it. It is corrupt and everything is connected. This is obvious to anyone willing to step away from their ivory tower and just apply common sense.
I believe that last paragraph to be an observation that is obvious to most people.

The most common misconception of Denmark is that we are socialists, something that could not be farther from the truth. Take a look at COVID restrictions and compare to the individual states in the US.
When speaking to young Danes that have been indoctrinated by non-danes online about how we are I usually go with the following examples: liberation of porn; Christiania; abolition of slavery. Porn was set free in Denmark to remove it from the black market. Initially CP was legal as well, and the idea was to set everything free and then regulate minimally if needed. Christiania is where weed is dealt in Copenhagen. It is an old military area that the bz movement broke into and took. We had observed the severe problems it had created in other European cities, and it was decided to take a laissez faire approach and try to contain in that area. Slavery was abolished gradually in Denmark. It had been observed in other countries that it could politically dangerous to keep it going. Thus we made a gradual move away where it was made illegal to acquire new slaves, but those already in slavery were not freed. The reason it was a gradual process over a period of years, was to make sure that the slaveowners had time to build a slave population that was self sustainable from breeding. Only acquiring new slaves was illegal.
Edit: I forgot the most important one. We have no minimum wage in Denmark.
