I've worked with infra resources in that region. The prices of hardware never made sense. Not sure if it's taxes or something, but I'm sure a poor city hall won't be able to afford 250 GPUs for R&D in cutting-edge tech.

It seems to me this is clearly a mistake. They would not even have the resources for it as far as I know and I think they are not even on a position to such bold claims.

True but this is probably because now they have much more demand as other competitors got to expensive and now people are going for the smaller ones even with low service levels

This is simplistic. The hard part of writing professional software has never been the code.

Not sure if needed. It depends much on your exposure. If you have someone on your family it is a factor of risk. Which just makes things insane considering that they exploit it get couple hundred bucks more per insurance.

It has been cheaper to not work for the healthcare system lately. Also because people are a**oles to nurses and the rest of the staff.

It is hard to say because there is "affection" memory that it was better than what we had before so it seems it was better.

In my humble opinion that serves nothing, it improved gradually, not exponentially up to 4.5

4.6 seems to be a minor step and the latest 2 are pure rubbish

By differences in the release dates between 4.7 and 4.8 it seems it was more likely an attempted bugfix

But 4.8 still underperforms on most tasks. I have things running where 4o-mini does it considerably better repeatably.

They might have tuned it for a particular reason and I would not doubt that the harness has been made worse.

Sometimes it teases me to think it does wrong things on purpose

With no details, a bird told me of a project which estimated using several millions of tokens per day to automate a team work which got laid off. The operation is now a mess, there is no one willing to be considered liable and since the cheap model they used is about to be retired the company is going to see a 4x increase in price at least.

I have the feeling that the age of 'i can't be blamed by AI stuff' will be a "this was the computer guy mistake" for a moment.

PS. I've been using Claude opus 4.8 and it is worse than 4.6 and I will say that even sonnet 4.6 is better. PhD. Level of software and engineering I believe! I know many PhD who never coded or worked anyway

I know someone's case who got it 3 times. The first 2 times full recover in no time. The third one took couple of months and now feels tired all the time, lost all sense of taste and smell, swollen tongue, body pain of sitting still due to the compression of muscles.

This person told me it was sure it was related to COVID because there was nothing before or after it and that was the only thing that happened.

Kinda sucks to thing that everytime it might be a chance for that or worse

As others pointed. It kind implies it surpasses professors, but reading more carefully it seems more like the mythos situation. There was a single professor or test that it surpasses.

Reading it makes me extremely suspicious on how cherry picked this was
