Show HN: Baton – A daemon that sends Claude to fix your GitHub issues

I got tired of the context-switching loop: pick an issue, read the context, write the code, open a PR, pick the next one. So I built Baton — a Python daemon that polls your GitHub issue tracker and dispatches Claude Code agents to work on them autonomously.

How it works:

- Polls `gh issue list` every 30 seconds for new issues - Claims an issue, spins up a git worktree (instant, shares the object database — no full clones) - Launches a Claude Code agent into that isolated workspace - When the agent opens a PR, Baton releases the slot and picks up the next issue - If one agent trashes its branch, the others don't care

Everything is configured in a single WORKFLOW.md file — YAML config + Jinja2 prompt template. It reloads on each poll cycle so you can tune it without restarting.

I recently discovered this via a YouTube video a few days ago

I really like the customization aspect of it and you can build tools on fly and even switch model mid session

I wanted to share a project I have been working on over the past week.

It is a simple local memory system that saves your sessions into Markdown files, which can be viewed later.

I developed this after using Claude Mem. I really enjoyed working with it, but it was consuming a lot of RAM, and each Claude session was becoming a major resource hog. I also tried other plugins and MCP solutions, but ran into similar issues, either slow performance or concerns about data being sent elsewhere.

Because privacy was a big thing for me, I decided to build my own solution that keeps all data local.

I definitely liked physics simulator you created, and I don't understand why people think working with Claude is mostly prompting and it's definitely not it does require effect and now we just write the code as its out sourced to the Claude but you are definitely planning and thinking about the problem you are trying to solve
