This is a feature of the web. Browser refreshes SHOULD dump state. Otherwise it can be difficult to recover from system errors. Of course if you can build a system that is guaranteed to never have bugs then go ahead and disable this feature. But users may still be confused as to why refreshing hasn’t restarted their window

Germany, for example has rent controls, this is generally a great success, but in Berlin it’s a total disaster.

The contention that it “doesn’t work” in LA and NYC doesn’t really tell us anything useful about groceries.

What you also seem to miss is that government intervention in markets is actually the norm, not the exception, they just don’t normally intervene in ways that get sensationalised by the press.

I saw a CTO put an email send script in a while (true) loop like this and we only stopped dossing one of our investor’s email after our sendgrid bill hit £32k. Funny thing about emails is they get in a proverbial traffic jam all across the internet so no matter how many times the poor guy would clear his inbox more would magically arrive

Yes as long as you stay off the deeper parts of tube, e.g the Northern Line. One of London’s biggest sources of particulate pollution is now tube train brake pads

It’s worth remembering that a lot of car centric design has political roots. For example many of Berlin’s wide roads were built so that Nazi tanks could traverse them. Likewise Paris’s wide streets were built so that cavalry army’s could pass. And a big part of America’s single family home suburb design (which necessitates cars) is born out of a desire keeping white and black people separate (as well as regulatory capture by the auto industry).

My favourite places in the world tend to be much older and basically built at random by the people who lived there, like London’s Soho and Clerkenwell or Barcelona’s old town.
