Interesting. I wonder if there is a way to get the completed volumes signed by him prior to shipping all the way to Australia. I was all over abesbooks looking for signed copies but couldn't find anything.

Just FYI for HN - if there is anyone looking to make big money in the coming years there are no fully signed TAOCP first editions anywhere. You would honestly print so much money if you could get all the first edition volumes signed.

I've noticed if I use the f.lux feature for just 15 minutes I begin to get tired at night. Blue light is a hell of a drug.

Interesting how they haven't repeated in this article earlier claims that the Chinese purchase of the steelworks was a strategic move to slowly destroy the blast furnaces by letting them cool under pretext of low demand.

Ask HN: Why does YouTube make me scroll down to select English

msuniverse2026 — Sat, 11 Jul 2026 11:01:03 +0000

Why is it when I'm selecting a subtitle language I have to scroll past Abhkazian, Afar, Akan, Afharic and all the other non-real languages to get to English? Wtf
