You can use tools like CleanMyMac to show folders and their sizes. All cache and library files are counted under System, e.g. files from vagrant, docker, vms, old jetbrains IDEs, caches from rarely used/uninstalled apps etc.
You don‘t need to buy the full version, you can just use the info and delete it manually in Finder.

> Siri does what I need it to do
Not true for me at all, it fails at the most basic tasks, sometimes even at tasks it has done before. Three examples:
- "Timer 5 minutes" -> Loading spinner is shown. Siri disappears after a few seconds. No error, no confirmation. I then have to manually check if the timer was set or not (it was not).
- "Turn on the lights in the living room" to which it responds "Sorry, I cannot do that". I have Phillips Hue lights that are connected to Apple Home, of course Siri can do that. It did that before.
- "Add tooth paste to my shopping list". The shopping list is a list I have in reminders. It then tries to search for the query on Google. I then tried "Add tooth paste to the list shopping list in reminders" which worked, but if I have to be this wordy, it is no longer any convenient.
There are many more simple cases in which Siri always / sometimes fails. I also have the feeling that it performs far worse if asked in my native language (German) than in English.

I really like urban places with public transport on the street. It leads to less cars and more pedestrian friendly streets.
Also I think for small distances (Zürich is not that big), I rather ride a bit longer with the tram than going down to a deep metro station, especially in hilly places.

Complex solution to a simple problem. Just ban ads in cities. Like some cities have already done. Then the ads that are left are just for stuff that is important, e.g. events, music, etc. No need for AI filtering algorithms that have to decide what to block and what to leave.

Related blog post, that was recently submitted to HN: Hardest Problem in Computer Science: Centering Things (https://tonsky.me/blog/centering/).
This feature would fix alot of the problems with centering fonts (icon and text) vertically, which is currently not really possible, at least not easily.

The big advantage is that you can be sure that the cannabis you are buying is actually of a good quality. Especially in Baden-Württemberg (cannot find the source anymore), more cannabis that has been confiscated by the police was impure than pure. And you never know whether you get indica, sativa, 10% THC, 25% THC, CBD that is spiked with HHC, just CBD, or cannabis that is spiked with something else. If you find a good dealer that you can trust has good quality weed, than that is fine. But I have been buying from a lot of different dealers over the past few years (not random people on the street, people I know through other people), and the quality is always all over the place.
I never want to buy from any black-market dealer ever again, once these cannabis clubs are up and running.

I think I read here on HN some time ago that it is intentionally hard to read to discourage posts with text. I think the reasoning was that posting links to external blogs / websites is usually higher quality than someone creating a quick post on HN.
Could be wrong though, just writing this from memory.

No idea why your comment is gray, but I agree. The site looks horrible. The text is so thin, it is almost unreadable (at least on macOS). Not to speak of the constantly changing visuals styles and fonts, which make the website feel like a mess, something a backend developer (no offense, not everybody has to be able to make nice looking landing pages) threw together in a day before the deadline.

What do you mean by "ignores the horrors happening there"? There is a daily coverage of what is happening, there are even live tickers and articles.
The reports mention what is happening in Gaza, the shelling, the ground invasion, the civilian casulaties, the humanitarian crisis (no water / electricity / no food etc.). I think one problem in this war is that there is a lot of propaganda going around, and there is not enough reliable impartial information. So just because the Hamas is reporting that Israel bombed a hospital (as an example), that the media will immediately pick up on that. For example, bombing a hospital sounds bad, but what if the hospital was acticely used by Hamas terrorists for ammunition storage, and even fighting from there? Is is now OK for Israel to attack the hospital? I don't think the media should immediately pick that up, because that information is not verified, and could as well be propaganda.
In my opinion, one of the reasons the palestinian people are suffering so much is because of Hamas, and how they use civilian infrastructure and hide in the population as their strategy. There is no way for Isreael to "win" without massive civilian casualties. And we should also not forget that Hamas is not innocent, they are not "just defending" their country. They started a war, which they are now loosing. You cannot attack another nation state, and then expect them not to do anything about it?
Also keep in mind that Hamas is recognized as a terrorist organization in Germany, while Israel and Germany maintain good political relations. It makes sense that Germany is more supportive of Israel.

I am doing something similar, but far simpler: I have a chat with myself in Telegram, that I can access on all my devices (Telegram has a desktop app). If I want to remember something, I just write a message to myself with the link and some keywords. Telegram search is good enough to find most stuff easily. You could also add tags with a #, but I don't even bother.

> Also, where are trousers supposed to go now?
In the Kickstarter video she shows how you can hang pants with it: You split the coat hanger in half (where the 2 'triangles' are connecting by a plastic piece), and then just put the pants on half of the coat hanger. I guess it is the same as just folding the coat hanger and only using one half, but it looks tidier this way.
