I was lucky enough to be able to mail £5 notes to Llamasoft in Mount Pleasant, and receive freshly reproduced tapes from Jeff Minter, or more likely his mum or dad.. The sheer joy of getting home from school and there being a Jiffy bag with Yaks latest game was like nothing else.. From GridRunner, LaserZone, HellGate, MetaGalactic Llama Battle At The Edge Of Time..

Commodore fanboy at heart, but maximum love to the weird uncle of home computing.. I was so jealous of Parsec on that, speech and all, in 1982, when our local nerd group used to go and stare at computers after school..

It’s not stunning, ~420MB/s and 36k IOP/s and it’s limited to 2242 sizes.. But it was a nice cheap 2TB upgrade for the old girl :)

Could stick a drive on an ExpressCard to NVMe adapter.. I’ve got one in mine, I don’t boot off it, but I believe it can.. Runs a bit warm, but it’s been powered up and running 24/7 for 2 years with no issues..

I was always fascinated by the prospects of the 1024-core Epiphany-V from Parallella.. https://parallella.org/2016/10/05/epiphany-v-a-1024-core-64-... But it seems whatever the DARPA connection was has led to it not being for scruffs like me and is likely powering god knows what military systems..

I’ve always been fascinated on more details about the VIC-1 in the Vixen/VIC-20.. Apparently designed for an arcade machine use, but then put into use for the VIC.. Wish there was more about that part of the story as I’ve no idea how it really came about and would dearly love to know more.. Aside from that, the gang did an amazing job, Jack, Chuck, Bob, Tony and Co. I raise my glass to you all :)
