Really enjoying seeing these really capable SMLs.
Note that on HF they state:
"This model was not trained on tool-calling or agent-based programming data. We therefore do not recommend using it for tasks that involve function calling, API orchestration, or autonomous coding agents." - https://huggingface.co/WeiboAI/VibeThinker-3B
So we can't just hook it up to a coding harness like pi.dev or something.

IMO using Kafka for long term storage is not the greatest idea. It is expensive to keep CPU and RAM constantly on top of data that it going to be cold most of the time. There is no DML which means mistakes are expensive (from an engineering pov). And while the whole event sourcing paradigm can work quite well in narrow domains with teams fully aware of the implications of what they are doing, in practice, on large orgs, it is hard to scale (from a people perspective).

You are right, I oversimplified it in my comment. People could still trade using euros. But I guess the only way to get more currency in the country would be via foreign trade. Banks would not have access to EU QE, deposit guarantees might be no longer valid and the state could no longer print currency to replace old ones.

I'm sure they would, but once they are independent, they can't legally use the Euro. Would they even continue to be Spanish citizens and be able to travel freely in the Schengen area? A new state takes years to join the EU (assuming the EU would accept). How about sovereign debt?
All these (really important) issues that should be part of an extensive debate so that people could understand better what is expecting them on the other side.
Also, I don't know any country that allows constitutional changes to be done via a simple majority in parliament (they had 3 votes above simple majority).
The only reasonable exit at this point, I believe, is to have new elections.

What does this even mean: "declared independence"?
Have they ordered borders to be closed? Bank accounts to be frozen until new currency is introduced? Have people started throwing their Spanish passports and their euros into the trash?
It just sounds like a lot like pure political manoeuvre without any kind of practical consequence.

We have an interesting offer in Portugal. If your cable+internet+phone+mobile company is www.nos.pt you get a card that offers you 2 for 1 tickets at their cinemas. If you go alone, you pay full ticket, but you get a popcorn and drink menu for free. Max 1 per day, 8 per month, 52 per year. Each ticket is around 7USD.

This. A lot of long term research worldwide is publicly funded and the status quo of the scientific journals (that once had their place in a world with high communication barriers and costs) needs to be seriously shaken up. That plus the huge business around scientific conferences with most speakers having to pay to be able to present their findings.
But I guess the whole model in the scientific community might need rethinking. Most people are only worried publishing because that is the only measure that matters at the moment...
