Sounds about right. About the only way you could justify the projection of making so much hand over fist.

But can they actually pull it off? Since the open models are kind of able to pull off the same things.

Maybe they can brute force faster, but not releasing allows another to scoop it.

Imagine doing everything possible to stop something. They then circumvent your protections with yet another service, and you get fined.

I wish I could even suggest what someone could do against these trolls.

This is like saying "we put a lock requested by court and where found guilty because plantif hacked us after"

This is well worth the entire watch. It feels like what would any hacker do in trying to figure out how to make something they want to exist. Also very well presented and good pace.

Inspires me to try and start doing some robotics.

I'd say just knowing when to walk away in anything, not just this industry, is one of the best skills you can have as a human.

If I was to ever suggest one, it would be Philosphers.

If it's going to be this binary. Then there has to be a shift in the way this is handled. It shouldn't be "You wrote these terrible things to a computer, you're now accused of doing them" to maybe "We where notified you wrote these terrible things, and the a psychiatric evaluation is being mandated by the state in which has a law about this sort of thing"

Obviously, as others have pointed out if they don't act and she does the crime it raises the damned if you do damned if you don't. But I've also had the AI's go haywire saying I'm doing all sorts of nefarious things when literally doing math proofs.

So no one size fits all. But going the extreme first is probably not ideal.

Back in the day you could think of a cool idea. I don't know maybe a plane that could fly without drag. To even see if this was feasable you had to understand physics, engineering, and then from there you had to have a math person see if it was actually possible.

Now, I can ask ChatGPT about this and get back a proof that shows "a passive airframe cannot sustain zero-drag motion through still, viscous air"

So, I think if anything now, Maths has changed for the better. More ideas can be proven false or true from a get go instead of wasting so much to see if its even feasible to find out it isn't.

Progress if anything is about to leap frog anything we have ever known.
