I am also working on a project after being laid off, though I got hired elsewhere. Any suggestions on how to promote your work? I am fairly far away from that but it will be a harder thing for me I think

It was pretty insane that there was such a huge push with #deleteuber and there were so many stories about how terrible they were as a company for customers and employees. And now after just a few short years people somehow completely forgot or believe somehow it's all good because they changed their CEO.

I don't really get the confusion people have. It's understood that most people don't constantly upgrade every year. They are improving their product, and when you do need a new phone it will have a many features and be competitive with other devices. Yes, there has not been a killer-app in a long time that forces upgrades.

I remember when I was making music. It was really fun and engaging. Then I learned about microcontroller projects for making my own synthesizer. It was fun and it took me two years to build my synth. At the end of it I had not made music for long enough to have lost the knack, and I was sick of even learning how to use the synth because I was worried I would have to debug it. So I just didn't make music ever again. Why consume yourself with some sub project that goes nowhere?

I have thought of doing projects with server side swift but only because I know Swift so well. It does seem like the worst thing to do is to try and learn Swift in the non-golden case of being within MacOS.
But ultimately this does seem to be standard issues you might see working with swift and lacking inference but the dev didn't know much about Swift to work his way out of it.
I do agree that the way Package.swift works and how it relates to your imports is really confusing. Not to mention how the name in the Package.swift relates to the package names your importing (they don't, they relate to the repo or directory instead of the Package names in the repo's Package.swift).
It seems like the dev just kind of randomly plugged away and they weren't really willing to learn anything and is holding everything at arm's length.

It seems like one of the main issues is that vets have super easy access to a quick and painless death, as well as extreme familiarity with it. Just like having access to a gun makes you more likely to suicide. In general people with more access are more likely to commit suicide when they feel that way. Not trying to undermine that they also feel extra depressed due to the job though. I've seen a few of my pets be euthanize and it was torture.

I've been trying to build plants using procedural generation for a project. I feel like everyone suggests L-Systems but I feel like it's good for making random alien plants that you can vaguely tweak. But they're not good for plants that you actually want to make look like something specifically and grow uniquely and progressively.

It's an advertised perk so sure. Just like they might convince you to work somewhere because it's more geographically convenient for you or it has a day care. It offers better quality of life in lieu of cash money. I know cash is what most americans want. They want it over better health care or fairer lifestyle. But some people just want to live more comfortably instead of being able to tell people how many "figures" they make.
As for the cuts, maybe they decided to be more "honest" and cut that program and just give new hires more money?

You get side-lined for a 3-4 hours. They should open a little MPAA lawyer's office in the airport. He'll help you negotiate a settlement before you get on the next leg of your flight to Houston.

This is just new people seeing the agreement. The point where he starts yelling about the fact that he might not be allowed into the store was a big indicator. A little research will show you what you can get away with.
The rest just sounds like Apple might mean the actual compiled digital book is their property. Not the actual internal content, but the functional storage and execution of it. They're trying to keep people from cloning a iBook reader, not trying to lock down the author's work. Indeed not clear and not easy to make clear.
