I’m on the IOS 27 beta and Siri did those two tasks (weather/phone) flawlessly. It’s a lot better than it used to be.

Just because Fox News crowed about it doesn’t mean it’s bad journalism. Arguably toeing the party line is what resulted in Democrats being in that situation (fielding a weaker candidate against Trump) in the first place.

The MBPs didn’t run too hot, the Nvidia GPUs used an underfill that stopped providing structural support at a relatively normal temperature for GPUs (60-80 degrees C).

GPU failures due to this also happened on Dell/HP/Sony laptops, some desktop models, as well as early models of the PS3.

International shipping from China to the US is subsidized by USPS under the Universal Postal Union rules since China is classified as a developing country. Terminal dues to the US have been increasing over the last 5 years to compensate for this.

Zero export inverters are grid-tied but monitor the meter/CTs for load changes in order to curtail solar production/shift it to battery charging. I think they can technically backfeed a little bit if load is suddenly dumped depending on the inverter response time. Some have a secondary hard disconnect for additional protection.

I think you mean diesel-electric. They are talking about electrified miles of track which is almost exclusively limited to passenger lines in the US. Even where freight trains run on electrified track, they still use diesel-electric motors.

There was a new carve out created last year that allows driving electric scooters without a license, provided they meet some requirements (speed limiter, a speed indicator light, etc).

Rail freight and passengers mostly share the same tracks in Japan with the exception of the Shinkansen network* which is passenger only. The big difference is Japan sends way less freight by rail than the US and freight that does go by rail is scheduled at night when there are no passenger trains running.

*There’s probably an exception to the exception for the Akita / Yamagata branches that partially run on regular train lines.
