The author says in the first paragraph that he used to play a lot of D&D (dndbeyond.com) and now prefers Dungeon World (dungeon-world.com; PDF is $6). Does anyone know why he might prefer the latter? As context, I play D&D weekly, love it, and am always interested in learning more. Dungeon World is designed to focus on creativity and shared storytelling with simpler mechanics to make the game more fluid. However, there's nothing simpler than having a clear D&D rule for something like fall damage, instead of having the party debate if a player survived the fall. Dungeon World doesn't have fall damage calculator and instead relies in the narrative, presumably from the pre-written story or DM.

Google Cloud does not use customer data for Google's search graph. No cloud does this.

From Google: "At Google Cloud, we do not access customer data for any reason other than those necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations to you. Technical controls require valid business justifications for any access by support or engineering personnel to your content. Google also performs regular audits of accesses by administrators as a check on the effectiveness of our controls."

The author is a middlebox employee (IPS, IDS, Firewall, NAT, WAN optimizers, LBs). Middlebox people want unencrypted transport headers, because they literally profit from unencrypted headers. :) Everyone else, including users, site operators, and software engineers writing network software prefer that middleboxes not be able to see or tamper with transport headers (both for privacy, avoiding bugs, and being able to evolve software).

From the original article: "What's wrong with encrypted transport headers? One possible argument is that middleboxes actually serve a critical function in the network, and crippling them isn't a great idea. Do you really want a world where firewalls are unviable? But I work on middleboxes, so of course I'd say that. (Disclaimer: these are my own opinions, not my employer's)."
