I do wonder whether, as a group of people being regularly exposed to text written by LLMs, we'll gradually end up writing and talking like that in our normal language. At that point perhaps text written by LLM and human will be indistinguishable. I already find myself using terms like 'footgun' in jest more than I ever did before!

Definitely one of my favourite games growing up (along with Colonization).

I'm reminded of one of my best gaming facepalms which occurred playing X-COM. We'd been playing the game for ages and had found it very difficult to kill all the aliens during the ground missions. We'd go round the whole map attempting to find the last remaining aliens before having to give up. It was only when one of us accidentally clicked inside the UFO that we realised we could actually go inside the UFO. Our mission success-rate improved somewhat after that 'discovery'.

I'm from MixRadio and we're actually about 40 engineers, not all doing Clojure. Pretty much all of our new micro-service work is done using Clojure. Not sure how many others in wider Microsoft/Nokia.

Nothing more scientific than, at the time we started out with Clojure, that was what we found first and it worked! Recently we've begun using http-kit in some high-load areas with some really good results.

It's JSON over HTTP for the most part. We have a bit of legacy XML still knocking about and some services use message queues.
