A comment complaining this was obviously written by an AI, and the standard template is a tell. A philosophical observation about what that says about the state on online discourse. Link to the Dead Internet Wikipedia page.

Agree with the premise, but I built a theme with a different interpretation:
https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=narenran...
The primary difference is that my theme has an underlying assumption that colors have semantic meaning that we all implicitly understand(red = bad, yellows/oranges are action-oriented etc). So instead of color = syntax, my theme semantically maps color = intent.
• Warm colors (orange/red) for actions — throw, return, await.
• Cool colors (blue/green) for definitions and values — function names, constants, variables.
• Muted neutrals for structure and noise — punctuation, keywords like var or const
This means comments are muted, contrary to the author's proposal - imo while they are important and helpful, they're secondary to the actual code
My primary design goal was that if you open a large file and squint at it, the flow should be immediately obvious (the flow colors stand out, if you see a bunch of blues it's calling a bunch of other functions etc)
(You can see screenshots in the link)

https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=narenran...
I wanted a color scheme where colors _meant_ something, rather than just be pretty - where you can just squint at your code and be able to visualize a heatmap of the key control flows. Among other things Chandrian uses Warm Colors for action keywords, Cold colors for Function names, variable values etc, and muted colors for punctuation / parenthesis etc. which just get in your way of reading code.
Disclaimer: I made it

Highly recommend this Matt Levine article on how ludicrous that is
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/newsletters/2021-09-09/money-...
> Imagine writing the investment memo for “20% of a picture of a dog” and being like “the most we should pay is probably about $2 million because the whole picture of the dog sold for $4 million three months ago and it can’t realistically have appreciated more than 150% since then; even if the whole picture of the dog is worth, aggressively, $10 million, this share would be worth $2 milllion.”
> One model here is that everyone on earth wants to pay $4 million for a unique picture of a dog, so if you make one unique picture of a dog and sell it for $4 million you’ll get $4 million but if you cut it into 17 billion slices each one will sell for $4 million?
