Select text and chat with AI about it. Grep transforms how you interact with web content by letting you select any text and immediately start an AI conversation about it. I'm curious to see if this form factor would be useful. I couldn't find other Chrome extensions that did this in this form factor, so I decided to test it out. I would appreciate any feedback. Select a piece of text from your Chrome tab, right-click, and pick Grep to start chatting.

This is super cool! I attempted to use this on a project and kept running into "This model's maximum context length is 200000 tokens. However, your messages resulted in 459974 tokens. Please reduce the length of the messages." I used open ai o4-mini. Is there an easy way to handle this gracefully? Basically if you had thoughts on how to make some tutorials for really large codebases or project directories?

You can also use it by using the --dir flag once you clone the repository. It can work from a local directory.

I've been applying for some jobs recently and found chatGPT useful in helping me tailor my resume for various applications. I thought others might be interested in something similar so I built this simple prototype - https://app.recript.com/
Let me know if you have any feedback, comments, or suggestions if you decide to try it!

Hello, I noticed a problem at my current company. Developers need easy access to developer environments. This is often difficult if a company is using shared resources. If there is a developer environment playbook then it can also mean maintaining different infrastructure for prod vs dev. So I'm curious to learn about how other companies are managing this. Can anyone share insights about you/your team achieves this?
