am I the only dummy missing an instruction?
the game takes off w/o my input, moving and blasting away.
surely I'm just OOTL w/ PDF gameplay, which I blame myself for

I cannot pretend to have an adequate breadth of geopolitical knowledge on this topic nor an understanding of the underlying reasons behind the various governments and the advent more recent "nomad visas".
However my knee-jerk reaction is that, the various programs governments will incentivize regarding foreign investment and relocation are not necessarily in the best economic or social interests of the locals for a given area, despite that governments intent.
One story I recall from earlier this year was regarding Lisbon and the backlash against their visa [1]. From the article it's obvious there were other (tax) incentives that existed prior to the nomad visa, however it appears to me that the visa was a turning point in public discourse on the topic, as it incentivized highly paid individuals to relocate to Lisbon (4x the average Portuguese salary).
Though I don't disagree that it could still have been weighed by the government and determined it to be a net-positive still.
[1] : https://www.politico.eu/article/portugal-digital-nomads-bubb...

I too was intrigued by this and did a quick google search.
I came upon this which I think is a similar (if not the same) reaction as is occurring in OP.
https://thehappyscientist.com/content/simple-electrolysis
And in the final paragraph states that, and I'm loosely plagiarizing here, the negative ions created in an electrolysis reaction are attracted to the positive/live terminal*, and in the presence of chlorine (as in salts found in the potato) the copper (wiring) react to form green copper chloride.
Edit: not battery, but positive/live terminal

To add to this, on iOS I couldn’t get the cookie pop up to clear so after the first 3 sections I had to move on. The writing was indeed great but navigation and screen real estate for mobile made this a bit tough.

second this, I managed a brief conversation with someone when trying this out and it was great, a few other messages seemed to chime in as well. perf/eff can be improved as mentioned above but would lose the fun, imo
