The article references this study: http://www.frbsf.org/economic-research/publications/economic...
... which is based on the rate of response to resumes that were identical except for age, submitted to thousands of job openings.
There's also the whistleblower info that forms the basis of the RJ Reynolds lawsuit, which states they explicitly told recruiters to avoid experienced candidates in favor of people two or three years out of college.
This allegedly resulted in a unusually low number of people over 40 being hired (19 out of 1000). Similar statistics have been used recently in lawsuits against Yahoo and Google for alleged gender and age discrimination (still pending, afaik)

Bringing up a comment he made on pedophilia and some vague allegations about him inviting young guys into his room is certainly sticking your finger somewhere.
But oh, right, other people said those things, not you. You're just reporting, in a comment thread about the man's uncertain physical health, asking if it's "acceptable" to wish him well.

You mean, for example, using Safari to debug mobile Safari / webview-based apps? That'll get you about 80% there, but environment differences (i.e., memory and processor limitations) on the device and quirky rendering behavior in mobile webkit almost always result in weird bugs that traditionally have required a lot of poking around blindly to fix. Differences between the simulator and the actual device are fairly common too.
It's only fairly recently that useful debugging tools like this and the built-in iOS 5 stuff have emerged.

I thought that didn't work on the actual device, which frequently is different enough from the simulator that Catalyst could still be extremely useful.
Also, I've never looked into it, but is there any comparable built-in debugging method for Android?

You're seriously citing an unsubstantiated article where the central analogy is literally "Apple = Nazis"? I normally skip the Gawker bashing because it's pretty played out by now, but that has got to be one of the worst examples of tech journalism I've ever read. Even if that sort of security sweep does happen at Apple, I honestly can't think of a worse way to present the information.

I don't think anyone is debating that music can be recorded cheaply, the point is about standup being easier to produce (from a technical perspective), and unless you're thinking of a solo acapella singer, music requires a lot more production value, even just to get something sounding "decent".

Sure, the two can be comparable if you're recording a solo accapella
'not much' for a 'decent' sounding album

Well, the SD card simply isn't going to happen on any Apple iOS device, but what are your objections to jailbreaking? It's easy and addresses all of your software concerns. Yes of course it would be great not to have to do it at all, but how is it different than the rooting process you have to go through with most Android devices?

Oh, yeah, so it is. I didn't notice initially. Probably explains why I was so reminded.
Again though.. I hate to see devs getting screwed over in any context, and I wish Bryan the best, but personally I think he's making his point poorly. Apple is not trying to take his house, and his birthday is irrelevant to their actions.

Somewhat tangental, but this is the second post I've seen here recently that plays up the ".. and this happened on my birthday!" angle ( this being the first: http://lunduke.com/?p=2206 ).
I'm extremely sympathetic to anyone who's struggling, but seriously, why should a birthday matter in this context? You can debate Apple's app store policy, but should they be expected to factor in stuff like birthdays when they enforce it? It just seems like a cheap pity play that, for me at least, undermines whatever point is being made.
