Afaik it was forbidden to sell lands in Palestine to Jewish people, though I don't think it was that effective in stopping lands being bought out by Jewish people due to weak central authority and worsening economy.

It could be bureocratic barriers. For example, Turkey recently changed importing laws so that anything(even stuff sent to you for free) from outside the country is subject to tariffs & import costs. Importing a cheap component worth 1$ costs like 300$.

Its not as full featured as ffmpeg but I remember hearing about mediabunny, It's a web native ffmpeg alternative, and according to its website, seems to be a lot faster than ffmpeg.wasm
