Steve Keen is a sophist. These kind of academics these days (post social media/youtube) spend more time talking to non experts and lay people than doing any serious work. Its like the attention economy keeps them employed rather than solving an actual problem. Pay attention to such folk at your own risk. They will act as if the weather is controllable if x y and z happens when the truth is the weather cant be controlled.
Also AI is not like 2008 because unlike the housing market which is ancient and predictable AI is new and not predictable. Steve Keen cant predict what AI is going to do next week. On top of it there are geopolitical/national security layers that will influence the story in ways economics doesnt handle.

Having stayed and worked in SK for 2 years I was just counting days to get out. The only reason I put up with the medieval way they treat employees and mindless over optimization of everthing, was the pay. It felt like I was living in a squid games episode. Any small thing going wrong would set off like a cascade of people yelling, threatening, ill treating each other.
I think its going to become a text book example of too much optimization leading to fragility.

Its like talking about the weather. Because no one/group really controls it. You can spend time worrying about who is getting effected by the weather on the planet on any given day and easily conclude weather as a system has a net negative effect on the chimp troupe. Meanwhile some chimp has found a beach, someone else has found shade, someone has found strawberries locally. What the global system is doing is more visible these days because of the info explosion. But its global. It doesnt/cant effect everyone the same way.
