Hi all,
This is something I recently made after hearing a ton of people looking for a simpler approach in the IT and physical asset management space.
Here's a quick video demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkCpLhIoggc
Registration doesn't require a confirmation, for now, just so anyone can test it right away.

Hey friends, I have a pricing question that I am trying to solve:
Working on something solo has its drawbacks — especially when trying to decide on something so crucial to the business.
Hence, I need any help I can get with the following...
Currently, blogstatic.io is $19/year with all features included. However, at this rate (vists + reach), I don't think the business can become self-sustainable before my runway ends.
The idea is to introduce new pricing plans but keep the $19/year, which is something the blogstatic brand has become a synonym with = Carrd for blogging.
The $19/year plan will have basic features that will help anyone new to blogging get started.
Now for the other plans, there are two ideas:
* Have 3 plans:
$19/year,
$5/month (paid yearly $50), and
the business one $15/month, which includes multi-author and more advanced newsletter features
OR
* Have 1 plan only!
Have only the $19/year plan and make everything else an add-on that users can purchase as they need.
===
I personally like the add-on idea. It's a straightforward one, and you can add to your "cart" widgets/options you need and nothing you don't.
Example: Say there's a feature on the $5/month plan, but you don't need the rest — with the "plans" only approach, you will "have to" upgrade — with the "add-on" approach, you can purchase that one single thing in the "Store," and you're done.
However, I am afraid that the "add-on" approach is a tedious one for the user — they have to "buy" everything individually.
— Is this a good practice?
— Do people care?
My goal is to keep it easy and yet have a self-sustainable business. I am totally fine with leaving money on the table, as long as those two criteria are fulfilled: Easy + Sustainability.
So my specific question is:
"Plans," OR
"Everything is an add-on"?
I am all ears to hear what you can suggest — as a USER and as a business person.
Cheers
PS: I am Val, and here's my personal blog with more context around blogstatic, if you're interested: valsopi.com

Hey friends,
I recently rebranded blogstatic and introduced a new price which has made it more accessible for customers.
The product initially had launched on April 2021, but struggled for about a year or so to gain traction due to higher pricing and lack of features.
Recent updates, new pricing ($19/year), has made a ton of difference.
Hope you like it and let me know if I can answer any questions on here.

Somehow I have missed your comment. Wanted to thank you the support. And, fixed most of the copy as we speak. Stating clearly the stage the product is in and what's to come. The intention was "to promise", but I can see now that some of the copy could have sounded as if everything is ready now. An honest semantics mistake.

You're right. A ton of hoops for the user to jump around. In Subsection I'm solving this by having the support docs sit under the main domain.

Thank you so much for recording this. I appreciate it a ton.
It’s incredible to look at it from the user’s perspective. And happy that you found it useful. Gives me a few ideas on how to improve certain things.
And to compare it to Crisp, that’s just amazing. Would love to see Transistor’s help and api docs on Subsection at some point.
This was great!

Fair points. Yes, will try to soon have a better understanding about the pricing and post it up.
“Teams” is something I am trying to launch shortly so users within a company can collaborate on various docs.
I hope you get to keep Subsection in the back of your mind, and once you feel we’re here to stay, I would love to have you and your team on Subsection.
I am Val and you’ll most likely find me on the chat support.

Great, points! I agree that it could be quicker.
I wasn’t so sure about including the second step before creating the Demo, but that was sort of my safety so people don’t “accidentally” create it.
And, overall it could be less steps for sure.
Thank you so much for this feedback.

You are absolutely right. It should be up there.
It’s currently all the way down on the footer: https://subsection.io/guide
It’s still being worked on as Subsection is only about a week old and still deploying features as we speak.
