The scam was that the US needed private industry to bootstrap technology that's mostly going to be used for surveillance analysis and building kill matrices.

Not really? If you're caught with burglary tools on private property that's still illegal even if you only took one step.

Likewise if act in a way that makes someone feel that you're going to hit them that's assault regardless of whether you actually ever touch them.

RIP. I really liked the Hyperion books and Ilium/Olympos. He seemed to become a bit of a chud after 9/11 but the books are still well worth reading.

One thing I haven't seen CRT shaders really replicate is the brain-melting flicker that comes with that technology. LCD was such a relief when it became common.

There doesn't really seem to be anything interesting about this.

Also while the US plug makes some pretty compact power adapters, the effect is largely ruined in the EU and UK with their wider more cumbersome plugs.

I mean that chatbots might have an easier time working with terminal output with the standard prompt rather than one that has your battery, weather, git branch and aws account in it.

It's just an idle thought though.

Like most customization and command replacements (like the fancy greps, ls's, etc), I've stopped using fancy prompts because I log in to lots of systems over the day and most of them won't have my prompt and this causes annoyance.

Also I have a theory that it lowers chatbot performance if you're copy pasting terminal output.

So on the site itself it says

Agile prices can spike up to 100 p/kWh any time - although a typical household in Winter '22-'23 paid around 35 p/kWh average.

so that's even more than I'm paying. This seems to only make sense if you have some sort of intelligent battery system.

I wonder if this would work for anti-ai captchas... "Uncensor the following words to continue: f**k s**t c**t". You can think of more severe ones obviously, I'm not going to put them here. It seems like that might stop the usual proprietary chatbot apis.
