I really like their pdf viewer. It can be slow on complex documents, but I find it much easer to navigate around compared to the one on Supernote and Boox devices.
Their ebook reader though.. that really does suck. It’s had basically zero improvements in as long as I can remember, despite B obviously being a core feature for many people.

There are images in geminispace, and audio, and (probably) video. It's just not inline. One of constraints of the protocol is that pages cannot load content without your express say-so.

The good thing about the Remarkable is that it’s basically just a Linux machine and you have root access. There’s a great community of folk building extra functionality and tools / apps for it.

It’s another good example of internet sentiment being far different to popular sentiment.
Polling shows around 70% supported it, though far fewer thought it would be effective. Pretty much matches my views on it.

I use, like and pay for Pinboard. I don't use the archiving feature though - it's just a dump for links, and it does that very well.
I do worry that it's going to go kaput from neglect at some point, so it would be nice to see a bit of development and get these issues fixed. But either way the level of outrage here is a bit OTT. It's not life or death, it's just bookmarks.

Personally, I don’t think we need a twitter replacement. Mastodon is nice, but ultimately suffers from the same problems but at smaller scale.
I think it’s more likely that users will move to smaller communities - Discord, Telegram & WhatsApp groups etc.
I’m surprised that Whatsapp hasn’t developed better community functions.

You’ve got a few options on the self-hosted front. TT-RSS and FreshRSS both have quite advanced filtering systems that allow you to highlight or mute articles.
Most of the paid options have similar functionality, including Feedly, NewsBlur & Feedbin.
