RE: Plausible, you should have checked their compliance and terms and conditions after checking demo and using it. There are some gotchas to be aware of (lack of DPO, being one red flag). Going umami, matomo would have been cheaper and safer.

It is very close, but it not the same.
https://techgdpr.com/blog/difference-between-pii-and-persona...
> When organisations seek to protect their user’s data, it is necessary that they understand the data they need to safeguard. Personal data, in the context of GDPR, covers a much wider range of information than personally identifiable information (PII), commonly used in North America. In other words, while all PII is considered personal data, not all personal data is PII.
When you say PII in context of GDPR you are simply using wrong term.

PII is not GDPR term. PII is used some US-specific acts, like HIPPA.
Did you mean Personal Data?

Spotify has enough power to say that podcasters should have ad free feed for premium subscribers or get deplatfromed. Obviously I would expect Spotify to pay podcasters.
The idea of paid, premium service with ads is ridiculous.

As a US subsidiary, you still fall under FISA and therefore you fail adequate protection of Personal Data.
Encryption does not protect data at runtime. Otherwise AWS is just glorified backup storage of e2ee data.

> Male loneliness epidemic
You are solving a non-existent problem.
There is no "male loneliness epidemic". If anything, there might be a "human loneliness epidemic". This is not a DEI angle on the problem.
Times have changed, societies have changed. But our expectations have not.
It is literally time to grow up to the new reality.
I think Professor Galloway, whom I am generally a fan of, is spreading a narrative based on selective statistics.

Media coverage is definitely a factor, but the post has some gleaming issues.
> Take excessive regulations for instance, which gets mentioned all the time. If they were such a hindrance to startups, why would American startups succeed in Europe - like Airbnb in our case - and European startups not? We all face the same regulations
Nope, they don't. US companies in Europe generally don't care about EU regulations. Even if we skim over privacy, AirBnB succeeded in Europe despite there being laws preventing short lets in many municipalities.
